LBNL

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) is a multidisciplinary national laboratory that is home to the Advanced Light Source, the Molecular Foundry, the National Center for Electron Microscopy, the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center and is a founding partner the Joint Genome Institute. Berkeley Lab provides expertise in bioinformatics, data management and biological modeling, in addition to being a world leader in advanced imaging, nanoscale biology, applied mathematics and biochemical design.

Sandia Lab

Sandia National Laboratories (Sandia) are multidisciplinary national laboratories that host DOE’s Combustion Research Facility, a premier center for combustion science, and is a partner in DOE’s Sun Lab, a virtual laboratory for the study of solar-power technologies. Sandia provides expertise in systems engineering and integration function, microfluidics, computation, robotics and materials development, plus experience in manufacturing technologies.

UC Berkeley

University of California Berkeley (UC Berkeley) is ranked first by the National Research Council for distinguished scholarship; home to the Synthetic Biology Engineering Research Center and the Energy Biosciences Institute. UC Berkeley provides expertise in molecular and cellular biology, molecular genetics, proteomics and environmental sciences.

UC Davis

University of California, Davis (UC Davis) is the administrator of the California Biomass Collaborative and home to the Northern California Nanotechnology Center, the Western Regional Center of the National Institute for Global Environmental Change, and the UC Davis Genome Center. UC Davis provides expertise in plant and environmental sciences, genetics, plant physiology, evolutionary biology and environmental science.

Carnegie Institution for Science

The Department of Plant Biology as part of the Carnegie Institution for Science, located at Stanford, California, is a non-profit research institute with a focus on plant biology. The research groups work at the frontiers of plant science with a focus on understanding plant development, physiology and evolution. The department maintains TAIR, a database on Arabidopsis thaliana, the model organism for plant and molecular genetics. It provides expertise in photosynthesis, bioinformatics, and the growth and developmental processes that enable plants to survive disease and environmental stress.

LLNL

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is a multidisciplinary national laboratory that is another one of the founding partners for DOE’s Joint Genome Institute. It is home to the Center for Accelerator Mass Spectrometry and BlueGene/L, the world’s fastest supercomputer. LLNL provides expertise in genomics, bioinformatics, experimental protein production, advanced measurement technologies, and high performance scientific computing.
