Kristin Balder-Froid is the Chief Strategic Development and Communications Officer for JBEI. She also heads the Strategic Initiatives in the Office of the Deputy Director for Berkeley Lab. For the past ten years, she has served as Deputy Director of the Lab's Physical Biosciences Division, focusing on strategic development and planning. In these roles, she oversees the strategic development, acquisition and establishment of large-scale, research initiatives that forward the science and technology mission of the U.S. Department of Energy. Balder-Froid led the overall planning of the JBEI proposal and continues to advise its senior leadership.
